Do You Deliver Same Day to Companies, Hotels, Hospitals and Apartments?
Yes, gift baskets can be delivered the same day to each of these locations when ordered before 11am. It is important to include as much information as possible when ordering baskets about the delivery address to ensure an efficient delivery.
When delivering to companies, it is essential to include the company name and any unit numbers if it is within a plaza. If the recipient is not available, this can be left with office reception or the building mail room.
For hotels, our couriers cannot go directly to the rooms. They will leave the basket securely with the front desk or reception so the recipient can retrieve it from them.
Delivering baskets to apartments requires the unit number and buzzer code to enter the building. This information will allow the courier to enter and complete the delivery. Not all buildings allow couriers to go directly to the rooms, so in that case the basket will be left with the concierge or security desk for the recipient.
We advise customers ordering baskets to hospitals to call them in advance to learn about their delivery policies. Some hospitals are more restricted than others. Information required for deliveries include the department, building number, ward, and room number. Couriers cannot go directly to the patients but will hand the basket off to the reception in these areas so the nurses/doctors can facilitate giving the basket to the patients.
Can I Track My Delivery?
All gift baskets that are being delivered the same day in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area are hand delivered. The couriers personally deliver each of these baskets to the recipient’s addresses.
As these deliveries are completed by our local courier, there are no tracking numbers to follow. However, once each delivery is completed, you will receive an email confirmation right after indicating it was completed successfully.
What Happens If No-one Is Home at Time of Delivery?
The ideal procedure we practice at our company is that all deliveries are received by the desired recipient directly. However, there are occurrences that the recipient’s are not home or available at the time of delivery.
If the order is meant to be a surprise, no one comes to the door, or they are not available at the office to receive it, we will leave the gift basket at the front door on the porch, with a receptionist or in a safe place.
The couriers try to contact the recipients to notify them of the delivery. If they are not home and instruct the courier to “leave the basket near the garage or back gate”, or to “leave it with a neighbour”then this is what the local couriers will do. From this point on it becomes the responsibility of the recipient to arrange for the collection of their parcel.
